More than 170 Nebraska schools currently
offer NASP for their 4-12 grade students. Each year more than 21,000
Nebraska students participate in a NASP course in their math, history
or physical education class and the program continues to expand.
NASP is a nationally acclaimed program that provides training and certification for teachers to teach target-style basic archery instruction in their school gymnasium using the NASP school archery kit. One-day teacher training workshops and equipment grants are provided by the Commission to assist schools in teaching Nebraska students a safe and enjoyable life skill.
In 2011, 425 students from across the state participated to represent their
school in the NASP State Tournament. This year's tournament should be the
biggest and best yet. Each year several Nebraska schools go onto proudly
represent the state while competing in the National NASP Tournament in
Louisville, Kentucky.
