Fishing Tackle Loaner Program

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's fishing Tackle Loaner Program introduces campers and park visitors to the sport of fishing by making tackle available at 16 parks across the state. Fishing poles, hooks, bobbers, weights, and other tackle are available for park guests to use during their stay, at no charge.

Anglers of all ages may borrow fishing tackle, but during periods of high demand children are given priority. Anglers are asked to return the tackle promptly when finished fishing so others may use the equipment.

Some parks loan tackle out of the main office, while at others, campground hosts take care of the equipment. At most locations, you can purchase bait at the park.  Participating park areas in Nebraska are:

  • Alexandria SRA (Jefferson County)
  • Branched Oak SRA - Area 1 and 4 campgrounds (Lancaster County)
  • Calamus Reservoir SRA (Garfield County)
  • Chadron State Park (Dawes County)
