New Happenings from the Commission

January 16, 2010 Lock, Stock and Bedlam No Comments

The Commissioners met today to approve new regulations and directions for the NE Game and Parks with some really neat things happening in 2010.

1. A new venue of shooting range facilities are being developed for Platte River State Park to include a 5o yard small bore range, 50 archery range and indoor air gun plinking range.  The new archery range will have a shooting tower for us bowhunters.  Should be an awesome addition to an awesome park!

2. New regulations passed to allow the Commission to enact the new Shooting Range Protection Bill – very cool as shooting ranges in Nebraska now have protection from nuisance lawsuits.  This is big for Nebraska hunters and target shooters.

3.  A new Angler Access Program has been established to enhance bank angler access on NE waters.

We keep working hard to give NE hunters and anglers and shooting sports enthusiasts what they need and hats off to our Commissioners for moving these things forward!

Get em’ out there!
