Signs of Spring!?

…I heard it!…I wasn’t real sure at first so I  had to stop and double check – just to make sure - but I heard it!…spring is indeed on its way…a little bird told me so -  it was a beautifully, bright red cardinal to be more specific…

…the male cardinal was declaring his dominance in this particualr piece of tree line on the backside of the NGPC parking lot….his “CHEER-CHEER-CHEER -PERTY-PERTY-PERTY” song was  testimony to the lengthening of the daylight hours…which can only mean one thing – spring is coming!…sure we still have snow on the ground in many areas of the state but it is time to start making plans for the season just ahead and all its bounty…

…soon the mid-continent, snow geese will be following the ice-line north and the turkeys will be gobbling…time to get back outside and have a little fun stretching the legs and preparing for the warmer weather…there are shed antlers to find and so much more…enjoy it while you can…
