Conservation Education Conference A Blast

March 16, 2010 Lock, Stock and Bedlam No Comments

Hershy and I just returned from the Commissions Conservation Education Conference in Kearney, Nebraska.  What a blast!  We had a great time with all the Hunter/Boater/Aquatic Education volunteers that make our many programs run so well each year.

We provided excellent speakers that focused on developing quality educational presentations and then were entertained by Ralph Duren, outdoor entertainer from Missouri.  He can create dozens of wildlife sounds with his mouth but most impressive was the representation of 4-5 turkeys gobbling…again without a call!    I can yelp with my mouth but not much more…

We were also entertained by my good friend Dick Turpin who closed the weekend with a heart warming discussion about his appreciation for all the volunteers, many he himself trained, that make the Hunter Education programs work.

Commissioner Dr. Mark Pinkerton, a Hunter Education Volunteer Himself, Addresses the Crowd

Oh What a Crowd It Was - over 240 volunteers!

Thanks to all who attended!

See You Out There
