National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament
The National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament was held in Lincoln on Saturday with 420 shooters registered from schools across Nebraska. The program has been a huge success in developing a shooting sport in school curriculums with nearly 20,000 kids participating annually in Nebraska.
The state tournament is the culminating event for many as the kids prepare during the semester in their PE class. The tournament was moved to the Lancaster Event Center in 2009 due to the growing number of kids and parents! This year teams and individuals won trophies for state titles, bows, targets and even college scholarships donated by Tom Saunders. A special thank you to all the volunteers who showed up to help make this event just plain awesome – especially:
Lincoln prairie Bowmen, Golden Arrow Archery, Tom Saunders and so many more!
Get em’ out there!
