Living History Event Scheduled for Fort Atkinson SHP

Fort Atkinson State Historical Park (SHP) will host its first living history event of the season on May 1-2 with a portrayal of life at a 1820s era military post.

The theme for this event includes all the activities of a new season: arriving boats, planting season and spring-cleaning after a hard winter. Events are from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days.

Fort Atkinson SHP is located seven blocks east of U.S. Highway 75 in Fort Calhoun. A park entry permit is required and may be purchased at the park. For more information, contact the park at (402) 468-5611 or ngpc.fort.atkinson@nebraska.gov.
