The Adventures of Jeff and Dave (and the kids)

April 13, 2010 Lock, Stock and Bedlam No Comments

We had been looking forward to the youth turkey season for some time now and it was no disappointment.  We had three kids and came home with one bird thanks to a well thought out plan (Dave’s plan) as to where we should set up Saturday night.   We split up with the kids and one pair roosted some gobblers in their location.  The next morning, some sweet turkey talk put a big long beard in the laps of one of the girls who made a great shot on a Husker Tom.   The best part of the hunt was all the fun the kids (and adults) had with the campout, camp fire and the whole works.  It was like one big slumber party complete with camp fire and smores!  Still plenty of time for more memories to be made so go make em’!

Get Em’ Out There

Side Note – when hunting with a couple of kids you tend to haul in way more snacks, drinks, junk etc. than you ever did before.  Just make sure that what you bring in comes back out and Don’t be a litter bug!  Thanks Dave!

The Turkey Was Just Icing On A Fun Campout Cake!

This is what happens when kids don't see any turkeys! I think she's missing the saddle!
