Get'em Out of the House
…regardless of what the calendar tells us – summer starts when kids are no longer in school…for many of us that means it has begun, for others it is just days away…ironically, the idea of school being out gets many parents thinking about summer camps for their kids…we can help! – with several to choose from…
…this year the Nebraska Game and Parks is teaming up with the Nebraska 4-H camps to offer three Outdoor Skills Camps for 11-15 year olds…the first will be held at the State 4-H Camp located in the beautiful National Forest near Halsey on June 14-17…the very next week (June 20-25) we will be on the shores of Harlan County Lake, near Republican City, at the South Central 4-H Camp…the final offering will run July 12-16 and be held at the Eastern 4-H Camp south of Gretna…for more info and to sign up check out the 4-H website at: http://4h.unl.edu/camp/
…Camp Oasis, just south of Firth, is also test piloting some hunting camps this summer for anyone that has completed (at least) 6th grade…the first will run June 27-July 2…the second camp will focus on bow hunting and be held July 18-23…these camps will even offer the chance for interested students to earn either their Hunter Education or Bowhunter Education Certification…details and registration for these camps can be found at http://www.oasiscamps.org/
…all of these camps are designed to focus on hands-on application of life skills - outdoor style!…with qualified instructors and activities from archery to wildlife these camps have it all for the inspiring outdoor enthusiast…sounds like so much fun I might even plan on being there!…
