Music While Fishing?

August 25, 2010 Afield and Afloat 3 Comments

Does anyone listen to music while they fish? Just curious. I’ve never seen anyone doing this on the water, but I’m sure those folks are out there. With Bassmasters videos being so dominated by fast boats, fast strikes, and fast tunes, I’d figure that there’d be a boat or two out there booming Metallica or AC/DC or some new-fangled riffs that would make Farrar blush.

If Farrar could hear them in the first place.

There are times it is a blessing to not hear. Magazine planning meetings being one. When you just slammed the trunk down on your buddy’s split-bamboo flyrod, the one that was his grandfather’s, is another. Anyway, when one’s hearing is poor, one often gives amusing answers to what one thought the question was. I assume Metallica has something to do with the way really cool cars were painted back in my day, like Candy Apple Red Metallic; and that AC/DC is electrician talk, at least I will restrict my comments to that possible definition.

So you think Jon wouldn’t like AC/DC or Metalica? He might surprise you. But if you are referring to him being old. He and I graduated at the same time so if you are calling him old you are calling me old. I like a little of the newer rap music and other stuff too. But there are a lot of people who have loss of hearing from listening to the head banging stuff.

Jon very rarely doesn’t surprise me.
