North American Model of Conservation Part II

August 12, 2010 Lock, Stock and Bedlam No Comments

As promised, the second article I wrote for Prairie Fire is available on their web page at http://www.prairiefirenewspaper.com/2010/08/the-north-american-model-of-conservation

This article highlights the various eras of conservation in the United States and makes a troubling comparison as to the direction we are heading.  I encourage any outdoor enthusiast to read it if you like.  I wrote the story because I feel we need this story to be told to generations.  How did the wild game become your’s and mine?  What mistakes have other nations with lesser models of conservation made?  What are the implications of a nation with a solid land ethic vs. one without?
