Big Deer!

Seward County Buck

…Nebraska has deer & we have some big deer!…one year after a Richardson County deer became the largest non-typical deer ever harvested in Nebraska (taken by Wesley O’Brien), the deer hunting world is again abuzz with mega-bucks taken this year from our great state…

…to define what makes a “Big Buck” is open to lots of speculation and best left to the individual hunter – however, any whitetail that has 200+ of antler growing on it’s head is sure to meet any hunter’s minimum…the 2010 November rifle season may have produced 3 such deer in eastern Nebraska…

…two of these magnificent animals have already been featured in newspapers – the third may be soon to follow…perhaps even more impressive are the stories included with the harvest of the deer - family & friends…antlers can have strange effects on those that seek them, sometimes to the point where friendships are broken and families divided – I have seen this several times, though luckily not through first-hand experience…but not so in these two cases…

Saunders County Buck

…I am sure there will be more info forthcoming on all 3 of these deer – here are the links to read what has already been written:
