Workin the Ponds…

November 10, 2010 Lock, Stock and Bedlam No Comments

For many, good duck numbers were seen in the last several weeks, especially around the Rainwater Basin area.  Many of us hunt the farm ponds and wetlands around Lincoln and have good success.  We have played with resident birds and now need those pushes from the north for good duck/goose hunting.  Rest assured the push is coming.  Keep an eye open for weather patterns in the Dakotas.  When cold snowy weather hits, plan a few days for the ponds as we will be sure to catch some action.  Also, with the abnormally warm temps we have had, our ponds should be in good shape for intercepting birds as they the weather systems edge.
