Weather Questions Needed

June 30, 2011 Afield and Afloat 1 Comment

At NEBRASKAland, we strive to bring the nation’s best experts on board as much as we can in our publication each issue. Case in point: because we wanted to know about all the creepy, crawly creatures in NE, herpetologist and author Dan Fogell began working with us; because we wanted a grasslands expert whose talent for macro photography astounds us, we have trapped Chris Helzer in a dark cave and only release him when there’s an insect to be photographed; and when we wanted to combine “funny” with “Nebraska,” we twisted Roger Welsch’s arm to write for us. Not to mention all the Sartores, Forsbergs, Griers, Boucs, Knopps and others that frequently write for us.

Dr. Ken Dewey is a professor of climatology in the UNL School of Natural Resources.

Because we want to know about the weather that affects you Nebraskans so much, we have convinced climate and weather expert Ken Dewey to contribute to the  magazine. Now that we’ve landed him, we need your help. What weather questions do you have about this great state we live in? What curiosities do you have about Nebraska’s interesting climate and weather, those questions that Dr. Dewey can help answer for you and also educate other readers throughout the region.

If you do have any questions, please email them to me at jeff.kurrus@nebraska.gov, and I’ll see if I can talk Dr. Dewey into answering them.

As always, thanks for reading.
