TIME TO THINK DEER HUNTING, SERIOUSLY?

July 5, 2011 In The Wild 2 Comments

It might seem like it is a real strange time of year to be thinking about deer hunting amid these dog days of summer, but actually it’s not!

Because, beginning next Monday, July 11th at 1 p.m. Central Time, your 2011 Nebraska deer hunting permits can be purchased whether you’re a resident or a nonresident!

Here’s a couple important links that you’ll need.

The first one is a link to the 2011 Nebraska Big Game Guide for specific deer hunting information: http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/hunting/guides/biggame/pdfs/biggame.pdf

Here’s the link where you start the process of purchasing your permits: https://ngpc-permits.ne.gov/NGPC-PS/faces/public/welcome

If you’re hunting private land, make certain you have touched base with your landowner friends to firmly secure permission and find out if there are any changes to the property. Missouri River bottom areas are still flooded and have been or will be dramatically altered!

Also, if you do hunt the Missouri River bottoms, offer to help your farmer who’s flooded out with a place to stay, perhaps some meals, groceries, etc. After all, they’ve given you a place to purse your hunting passion, haven’t they?
