DON’T MISS THE SNAKE MAN!

July 6, 2011 In The Wild No Comments

Don’t miss the “Snake Man”  – my good friend and U.N.L. Professor of Herpetology Dennis Ferraro – when he brings many of Nebraska’s 29 different  species of snakes to the Ak-sar-ben Aquarium/Outdoor Education Center at Schramm Park State Recreation Area on July 23rd and 24th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Learn about the conservation and ecology of Nebraska snakes through the interesting, hands-on presentations Dennis makes.

Admission to the Ak-sar-ben Aquarium, which is located 6 miles south of I-80 Exit #432 in Sarpy County, is $1.00 for adults and .50 cents for children. A current, valid state park entry permit is required of vehicles entering Schramm Park just down the road from the aquarium.

Here is a link for more information about the aquarium/outdoor education center: http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/Fishing/programs/aquaticEd/aquarium.asp

By the way, I think Dennis plans on bringing a rattlesnake or two to the aquarium as well! Can’t wait, hope to see you out there!
