WAGNER FARM CRP UPDATE

August 4, 2011 In The Wild 1 Comment

Time for an update on our family farm’s United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acres. We’re in the third year of our USDA CRP 10-year contract here in southeast Nebraska. We planted quail nesting and brood rearing cover with the seed mixes developed by my good friend and biologist Pete Berthelsen and his crew at Nebraska Pheasants and Quail Forever www.NebraskaPF.com  Check out the diversity of cover and the inclusion of various wildlfowers (pollinator habitat). It’s been fun watching things grow!
