THE FRIDAY VARIETY

September 16, 2011 In The Wild No Comments

It’s been a busy Friday, September 17th, 2011.

My morning began with my weekly Friday radio appearance about 8:50 a.m. on Omaha’s KFAB/1110 AM with longtime friend and hall of fame broadcaster Gary Sadlemyer at the Big Red Breakfast to talk about timely topics in Nebraska’s outdoor scene.

After that, I ventured to Omaha’s Salem Communications in west Omaha to cut some radio public service announcements about our Deer Exchange Program and Fall/Winter Trout Stockings for distribution to stations throughout Nebraska and the midwest.

Then, it was back to the Game and Parks Omaha Office for a check my e-mail and phone messages. Lo and behold, my good buddy WOWT-TV/Channel 6 Meteorologist  Jim Flowers had an e-mail note for me. He stated that his game camera has been snapping a lot of deer pics lately, had this whitetail buck to show and wanted to  remind you deer hunters to put up and start frequently checking your game cameras!

Following a quick reply to Jim, I returned several phone calls, chatted with some archery deer hunters at our counter and then made plans to help fellow Game and Parks employees with a youth fishing event in Omaha on Sunday. You see, there is always variety on most days at Game and Parks but especially variety on Friday and I love it! Now, what hat shall I wear to that kids fishing event on Sunday, hmmm …
