LABOR DAY KICKS OFF FALL FISHING

September 7, 2011 In The Wild No Comments

In my mind, Labor Day kicks off the fall fishing season. I had the opportunity this Labor Day/2011 to fish off the decks/docks at my in-laws private lake home near Grand Island, NE. This is Kuester (Crystal) Lake. Pretty, isn’t it?

The fishing was fun and very rewarding! I caught and released lots of nice-sized, plump green sunfish and bluegill.

My best bait – grasshoppers (I nabbed in my Mother-In-Law’s flower beds.

Even my in-laws bulldog, Bogart, enjoyed watching the action and seeing the fish!

So, my line to you (no pun intended) is to not overlook doing some fall fishing here in the Cornhusker State! These hungry fish are seeking out big meals to fatten up for the cold-weather months ahead. Labor Day, in my view, has kicked off the fall fishing season already, even though the calendar states it’s still summer!
