PROMOTING NEBRASKA’S OUTDOORS AT THE BIG CONFERENCE
We at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission are hosting a large-scale conference for fish and wildlife professionals this week in downtown Omaha. Pretty much anyone who makes major decisions about fish and wildlife resources for our country and Canada are there. They are talking about a myriad of hot topics and issues affecting conservation and resource-based outdoor activities. In fact, Outdoor Writer David Hendee of the Omaha World-Herald wrote an article about the conference in today’s paper: http://omaha.com/article/20110913/NEWS01/709139903/1014
Last night, we hosted a ‘Welcome to Nebraska’ reception at the Century Link (Qwest) Center to promote our fine state. One of the highlights of that event was the old-fashioned post card station set up with high-tech equipment by Doug Carroll, Eric Fowler and others on our NEBRASKAland Magazine staff. Many of our out-of-town guests/conservation brothers and sisters had their pictures taken, grabbed a hard copy and also had the pics e-mailed to them! Nice job Doug, Eric and crew! Here are the Nebraska postcards they received for you to see with my mug, YEE-HA! What do you think?
We’re always trying to think up new and innovative ways to promote Nebraska’s outdoors and this one was a touchdown at the conference!
