Who Watches Hunting and Fishing Shows?
I spent as much time hunting and fishing than anyone I know. If I have a free moment, I’m in the field. If not for the magazine, it’s in my own free time. And very rarely will I ever turn on a hunting and fishing show.
Not that I’m necessarily against them, but I just don’t partake too often. So my question is: Who does? There must be an audience for these shows because it seems like there are more and more on the television when I scroll through channels, but rarely do I feel compelled to stop and watch.
So please help me with this question if you do watch these shows or know someone that does. I’m guess I’m just pretty fascinated with this entire sub-culture. Maybe it’s the same (in reverse) of football watchers and football players. I have never played an organized game of football in my life, but will watch it Thursday through Monday this time of year.
Are there folks that watch these shows that hunt little? Are there any that watch these shows but never hunt or fish?
I know these are random questions, and all you can provide are personal, blanket answers, but this is more than I have now.

Jeff,
I am a sucker and will watch almost any hunting or fishing show I see on TV. Some of them are atrocious and hard to take, but I religiously watch In-Fisherman TV and the Lindner’s Angling Edge. Almost anytime there is a hunting show that features spring turkey hunting I cannot take my eyes off of it either.

Hi Jeff,
Like Daryl B., I watch hunting and fishing shows religiously. As a kid, Instead of Saturday Morning Cartoons, I always turned it to ESPN for Walker’s Kay Chronicles – even though I have yet to see an ocean. When that was over, I turned it to TNN for some Bill Dance Outdoors, I still sing the theme song sometimes, or Roland Martin, Hank Parker, and of course In-Fisherman TV. I also hunt and fish whenever time allows. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot of helpful methods from watching fishing and hunting shows. My fiance and soon to be step daughter will even sit on the couch with me to watch a good fishing show.

Hi:
Sort of have an idea of some who might watch Hunting & Fishing Shows . Two surgeries, a blown truck motor and another surgery coming up sort of heads one to the TV and Hunting & Fishing sure beats the hell out of the belly rubbing contests that are on so many stations. When you can’t be in the field they are sort of a band aid.not?
