Fall Trout Stocking Update

I need to give you a quick update on the fall trout stockings.

First of all, the list of fall trout stockings that was published last week, http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/blogs/2011/09/fall-trout-stockings-3/ , was NOT a comprehensive list.  Those are simply the waters where our hatchery personnel know the dates and times they will be stocking.  We will be stocking other waters with the catchable, put-&-take rainbow trout this fall, but we do not have a schedule for all of those stockings.  Stay tuned to our FaceBook page, we have stocking reports on there frequently, http://www.facebook.com/NEGameandParks and those stockings are posted to our stocking database as soon as they occur, http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/fishing/guides/fishguide/FGstocking.asp .

We had originally planned to stock Qwest Lake at Mahoney State Park this week, but with the warm weather we are having we are going to wait for water temperatures to drop some more before we stock those fish.  I cannot tell you right now exactly when the put-&-take will be stocked in Qwest Lake this fall.  Depending on schedules, man-power and logistics, we hope to stock Qwest next week.  Again, “stay tuned”.
