NO DOE, LITTLE WARM, NICE SCENERY, ALWAYS A GREAT EXPERIENCE!

October 5, 2011 In The Wild No Comments

Yesterday afternoon, I hunted for whitetail does during the October Whitetail Antlerless Only Deer Hunting Season in southeast Nebraska on my uncle’s farm. I didn’t see any deer, but all in all, it was enjoyable experience.

Fall foliage colors are beginning to emerge. Take a look.

Deer hunting in our family is all about fun (as it should be!) and I couldn’t wait to see the deer blind that I was going to be in which my cousin’s husband Mark  had painted. In honor of our men and women serving in uniform, Mark adopted a military theme to the blind this year. We’re calling it “The Bravo One Army Sniper Blind.”

It was a little warm yesterday in Nebraska, wasn’t it?. Here’s the thermometer  reading when I stepped into the blind about 5:15 p.m.

Here is the view from the main shooting port or window. Some nice scenery, wouldn’t you say?

I can’t wait to get back out there! Really, deer hunting is always about the great experience, isn’t it? Acquiring a deer is purely a bonus! I’ll take the sunrises, the sunsets and the mental health break from the rat race of our everyday lives. How about you?
