NICE WEATHER, VISIT A STATE PARKLAND!
With the nice weather (above normal temps) we’re having here in Nebraska (and it’s expected to continue according to the forecasts I’ve seen) take advantage of this balmy weather and visit one of our many state parklands!
The grounds/nature trails are open, wear good hiking boots/shoes, bring drinking water, pack a good pair of binocs or camera and don’t forget that you’ll need to have a current, valid state park entry permit for your motor vehicle. You can begin the process to buy a park permit here: https://ngpc-permits.ne.gov/NGPC-PS/faces/public/welcome
This is an excellent time of year to view wildlife such as songbirds, bald eagles and waterfowl.
Resident wildlife like deer and turkeys also provide viewing opportunities.
If you’re wondering, the best times to see wildlife in our state park system are just after sunrise and just before sunset when most animals and birds are on the move.
This is the link directly to our state parks page for all sorts of park info: http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/parks.asp
Get out there and enjoy!
