Bramble WMA Closed to Target Shooting

January 25, 2012 News 6 Comments

LINCOLN, Neb. – Bramble Wildlife Management Area (WMA) now is closed to target shooting. The 93-acre WMA is located along the Platte River 3 miles east of Morse Bluff in Saunders County.

“We have had some valid concerns about safety,” said Pat Molini, southeast district wildlife manager of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. “The area is small and flat, so it does not allow for safe target shooting.”

Signs that close the area to target shooting will be posted.

I can understand why it was poor to rifle target shooting, however I do not see the danger in shotgun target shooting. Their is a wide open field far away from the fishermen.

I liked Bramble for target shooting because it is close to Fremont. Now where is the closest area to Fremont to target shoot ? Please reply.
    Thank You,

How do we get replies for our question and the comments above ours? Can we shoot a shotgun there or not? If you would put up a 5 ft of dirt barrier then we could shoot there.

Bramble is closed to all target shooting including shotguns. No plans to construct a shooting range because the area is small and flat.

  5. John says:

When I was living in Offutt my friend took me shooting there as well. It seemed pretty safe to me at the time, but I think we were the only people out there lol. Maybe over the years it has become too crowded?
