LINCOLN, Neb. – Registration is open for the Great Park Pursuit, which is back for its fifth year of encouraging healthy outdoor lifestyles through visits to Nebraska parks. The rewards include increased awareness of recreational opportunities and a chance to win prizes.
Participants have 20 local, state or federal parks to visit from May 1 through Sept. 17. At each park, they follow clues to locate a post where they make a tracing of a nature impression. They mail in impressions, reflecting the total number of parks visited. Entry into prize drawings are based on the number of impressions collected.
Participants (individuals or teams) register at negpp.org or request a packet and registration form by calling 402-471-5425. Select a park from the 20 available on the Locations page at the website. Print off the page and take it to that park. Follow the clues on the park page to locate a post. Make a tracing of the impression, and then plan your next Pursuit park trip.
The Pursuit is hosted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Nebraska Recreation and Park Association.
