Burchard Update
I want to give you a quick update on the Burchard Lake project. Most probably already know, but in case you do not, Burchard Reservoir in southeast Nebraska, one of the best fisheries in the state, needed some repairs this year. The outlet structure there was very old, leaked, and had deteriorated to the point where something had to be done, now. So, Burchard is closed to fishing this year, and I know that is a short-term hardship for some. So, I wanted to show you that progress is being made!
Here is a view showing the 10-foot drawdown and some equipment getting the work done! Work is being done on the outlet structure on the far shoreline/dam.
The pictures I have to share right now, mostly show work being done on the new boat ramp and around that new boat ramp.
Here is a view from the other direction.
You want to know what “built like a concrete outhouse looks like”? Would you believe it comes in one piece?
And here it is installed!
The word I have heard is that everything is progressing nicely. We hope to see everything done on schedule, as was planned, by this fall!
