No Fireworks at Any State Park Areas Now

July 2, 2012 News No Comments

LINCOLN, Neb. – Because of extremely dry conditions and high fire hazard, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has banned all fireworks at state park areas this Independence Day.

This includes the seven state recreation areas that typically are allowed fireworks: Branched Oak, Memphis, Fort Kearny, Fremont, Two Rivers, Pawnee and Wagon Train.

Campers and park visitors should remember to be careful with fire during these dry conditions. Properly dispose of charcoal and completely douse all campfires before leaving.
