Omaha-Area Woman Dies in Saunders County Boating Incident

LINCOLN, Neb. – A 21-year-old Omaha-area woman died in a Saunders County boating incident Monday night, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

The single-boat incident occurred at about 7 p.m. at Woodcliff Lake in eastern Saunders County, a private lake surrounded by cabins. The woman was transported to Fremont Area Medical Center.

A 22-year-old man from the Omaha area, the boat operator, was cited for suspicion of negligent boat operation.

The incident is being investigated by Game and Parks and the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office.
