A trip down Highway 2 through the Sandhills will take you past the once booming town of Antioch, NE. During WWI Antioch was an industrial center for the creation of Potash, a potassium compound that was usually imported from Germany. When deposits were found in Sandhill lakes, a new industry arose in America’s time of need.
