YOUTH CONSERVATION WORKERS GO THE MICROPHONE

July 19, 2012 In The Wild No Comments

I had the privilege today of sharing a little bit of my P-R (public relations) world at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission with a work crew of our Nebraska Youth Conservation Program (NYCP) http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/Education/Programs/YouthConservation/index.asp

Part of this program is for these young people to learn about the various occupations in our agency. I, as a Game and Parks Public Information Officer, provided guidance to the eight workers and two crew leaders to effectively write and produce their own creative outdoor/conservation public service announcements (PSAs) from the experiences they’ve had in the NYCP at the KCRO Radio/Salem Communications studios in Omaha this morning. A huge thanks go out to Greg Vogt, Nick Buras and the staff there (www.kcro.com) for being so inviting and accommodating plus recording individual CDs for the group.

The kids and crew leaders had a blast and did a fabulous job with the PSAs. Before you give them a listen, enjoy a few pics of their outdoors-related broadcast debuts.

Now, here are the PSAs.  Make certain to click the link twice to hear them. Excellent job on these by the crew and leaders!  They and I say thanks much for listening!
