In Search of the Northwest School of Taxidermy

August 28, 2012 Afield and Afloat 1 Comment

In the November issue of Nebraskaland, Jon Farrar will be chronicling some of the history of this former Omaha school. And what many of you have figured out through the years is that Farrar is a diligent researcher, and trying to debunk his historical writings is a very difficult task.

Therefore, I will not try to re-research this topic. Instead, I will soon be visiting the school’s old building in downtown Omaha in search of something, anything, that will allow me to return to the office and say, “Ah-hah,” only to be told that he already knew what I was sharing with him. But it will be fun anyway.

Do you know anyone that graduated from this school? Or anyone who has any bullfrogs playing violins around?

What was the place like? I was down there this morning and it seems to have been taken over by apartments. I’m excited to read Farrar’s article, because I know nothing about it.
