Deer, Deer, and More Deer

I saw a big buck the other day while driving from Louisville to Gretna – a 5×5 who sported his headgear quite proudly, shoulders held high. Then, minutes later, I got a phone call from a friend who hunts land near Beatrice who had seen a huge buck on family land down there days before.

A day later, I had a doe close within 50 yards of my bow stand, then saw 8 deer on my way home on Interstate 80.

Then came the best news of all: a colleague of mine has already shot a 140 and 160 class deer this year in Saline County, and says that he has seen as many, if not more, deer than he has in past years.

I can’t wait to get back in the stand again.
