CHOMPIN’ AT THE BIT FOR THE FIREARM DEER SEASON EXPERIENCE
We are exactly one week away from the opening day of Nebraska’s popular firearm deer hunting season (Nov.10th) and I can hardly wait! My lovely wife Polly of 26 years says that everything comes to a grinding halt in the Wagner family with the opening of that deer season. It’s a wonderful tradition though. To me, personally, it means spending time with young family members and even guiding their hunts.
It means enjoying the landscape on our family farm where my ancestors settled and more than likely hunted whitetail deer for food some 166 years ago.
It means peace and serenity just listening to the wind gently blow through the grass.
It means enjoying every bit of nature including walking along our creek bottom looking for interesting rocks and things on the way to my stand.
Of course it means a bonus if I’m able to get a deer.
And, it means thoroughly enjoying those incredible sunrises and sunsets.
I wish you a good, safe firearm deer hunt this year. Remember, it’s about the experience!
