Deer Season Day 3: Paydirt
Rob shot his first Nebraska deer today, a doe at 8:00 shortly before a doe of mine at 8:15. I’ve never seen him so excited, and he’s been deer hunting since he was a kid.
But what was probably even better for us was the “trophy” I shot last night, a small buck that once again confirms that all trophies need not be a Boone & Crockett buck. After terribly windy hunts and a slow afternoon in the woods after my post yesterday, we both needed to hear one of our guns go off – and I was quick to oblige shortly after seeing him walk in the field.
