Hurley Awarded Best Presentation for Chronicling Collaborative Project
Keith Hurley was awarded the Best Presentation Award at the 2012 annual meeting of the Organization of Fish and Wildlife Information Managers (OFWIM). The OFWIM conference was held in Austin, Texas Oct. 15-18 and featured 34 presentations from experts across the country on a wide-variety of topics.
The award was given for Hurley’s presentation, “The Surprising Impacts of Technology: Development of a Fish Identification Mobile Application” which introduced a collaborative project with the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) and chronicled some of the lessons learned about the student’s perceptions, technology processes, team structure and the many insights gained through the interdisciplinary project. Dr. Ashok Samal, students from Samal’s UNL class and Dr. Kevin Pope worked together with Hurley on the mobile fish identification application project.
