WHAT? IT’S ALL ABOUT DEER ANTLERS ON THE CHANNEL 6 OUTDOOR REPORT

February 5, 2013 In The Wild 2 Comments

No, no. It’s not what what you’re thinking. I’m not going to be delving into the alleged Ray Lewis/deer antler spray incident. However, on my weekly outdoor TV gig, I am gonna talk about deer antlers — hunting for shed deer antlers in the Nebraska countryside that is!

Deer have begun to drop or shed their antlers for re-growth purposes and, after gaining landowner permission, it’s time to start the scavenger hunt in nature to find them! Learn all about this fun, family-friendly, winter outdoor activity and why you and your family should give it a try.

Tune in in to my Weekly Outdoor Report on Omaha’s WOWT-TV/Channel 6 or online at www.wowt.com LIVE Thursday night during the station’s 6 p.m. CST newscast on the sports segment. If you’re unable to view the live broadcast of the report, take note that video replays of it can be seen after the initial cast at this link: www.wowt.com/sports It can also be accessed on Digital Channel 6.2 and Cox Cable Channel 120. Additionally, Channel 6 runs The Weekly Outdoor Report on Saturdays later in its hour-long 8 a.m. newscast. Thanks for watching!

  1. Yep, I live right outside Lincoln and have already found 4 sheds on my hunting property. No monster finds yet, but any shed is a good shed in my book!

I agree, Jarrod, any “shed” is a good “shed.” This is how I space out my shed deer antler hunting trips from this date forth. I go on these “days” if I can– April Fools’ Day, Tax Day, Arbor Day and May Day, plus when I am looking for morel mushrooms or spring wild turkey hunting. Keep looking, have fun! Thanks for the note.
