Spring Break Trout

March 14, 2013 In The Wild No Comments

With teenagers, you take advantage of any time that they may have available and want to venture outdoors. I did just that with the youngest member of our family yesterday. That would be our 15 year-old Creighton Prep High School Freshman Noah (Wagner). It’s spring break week at Prep and Noah indicated to me that he might like to get out and do a little fishin’ at the Two Rivers SRA Trout Lake near Waterloo and then go visit Grandma. So, I obliged. What’s interesting, is that we had the entire lake to ourselves for the short time we fished before heading to Grandma Wagner’s place just down the road in Gretna. The weather was chilly, a bit brisk, but not too bad actually. It sure was a pretty day!

Here’s Noah’s first-cast rainbow.

I had forgotten how much fun trout fishing at Two Rivers is. Here’s the big kid – me with a rainbow I caught.

Here are a couple shots of  Noah’s other trout he landed at Two Rivers.

By the way, it doesn’t take fancy stuff to catch these colorful beauties.

We had a great time just fishin’ and talkin’ (Father and Son). We caught a few fish to take home. More importantly though, we made more memories!

Good fishing to you all!
