‘Twas the night before . . .

My family and I are heading out of town for the Christmas/New Year’s holiday for the next several days.  We will spend a lot of time with more family, but you can count on us having some outdoor adventures while we are gone too.  I may be away from the …

Thanks Coach

I am a Nebraska native and of course a huge Husker fan, http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/blogs/2010/09/go-big-red-and-blue/ .  Had my heart ripped, still beating, from my chest during that stinkin’ conference championship game, but I ain’t going there–it is still too painful. If you are a Husker fan or even just a resident of …

Merry Christmas!

Those of you who have been reading my blog and those of you who know me know that I have a bit of a warped sense of humor. Along those lines, I can promise you that this movie will be watched at our house about a dozen times over the …

My Favorite Christmas Song

It is the Friday before Christmas; my corny weekend blog post has to relate to the holidays.  So, with my warped sense of humor, here is a Christmas song for you. Have a good weekend, and Merry Christmas.

Back On The Line

You know I like to promote the wide variety of hunting and fishing opportunities we have in Nebraska.  In my opinion “Mixed Bag Capitol of the World” says it all.  Fishing, for a wide variety of species found in Nebraska, is definitely my favorite, but that does not mean that …

Nebraska Bass Clubs

I will always tell you that a good way to learn how to become a better angler, to learn how to catch more and bigger fish, and meet some great folks and have a great time in the process is to join a fishing club or organization.  In my position …

Mystery Tackle Box IV

Really, I am not being paid to promote this offer, I just like their commercials.  That “KVD”-guy is a hoot. Wonder if his wife needs someone to take that boat? By the way, this would not be a bad idea at all for a Christmas gift, http://mysterytacklebox.com/ .

Ice Safety

I have been blogging for a few years now, hard to believe.  I try not to repeat “stuff” but as the seasons change there naturally are some topics that come up year after year.  One of those that needs to be addressed every year about this time would be ice …

Meanwhile, on the Aquatic Invasive Species Front . . . .

I recently received the Fall 2012 edition of the Nebraska Invasive News Network newsletter, ENews Fall 2012 (2) . On the aquatic front, there are a couple of stories in that newsletter that I want to point out.  First is a short report on some of the boat and boater …

Amazing

Once in awhile I post something that does not have anything to do with fish or fishing or even Nebraska.  This is one of those times.  However, it is about a wild creature and I found this video to be totally amazing.  Click on the video, take 7 minutes to …
