AG PRODUCERS: WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND A CRP MEETING

February 24, 2012 In The Wild Greg.Wagner No Comments

Today, I visited with Eric Zach, our Ag Program Manager at Game and Parks, about the reasons why ag producers in Nebraska should attend one of the informational meetings coming up with regard to the USDA’s Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) sign up that begins March 12th.  Eric gave me these reasons:

- To maximize your Environmental Benefits Index (EBI) score and learn about potential incentives in the program

- To make the process of enrolling eligible land in the CRP go smoother

- To tailor your specific CRP plantings for the wildlife you would like to target on your eligible property

- To meet and get to know your local wildlife and conservation resource professionals

- To get any questions answered you may have on the CRP

Think CRP and click this link to find a meeting location near you: http://www.outdoornebraska.ne.gov/crp/

The Wagner Family's Southeastern Nebraska Farm enrolled in the CRP.
