" web page features how-to videos and step-by-step instructions on the basics of fishing and provides information about places to fish in Nebraska, how to get a Nebraska fishing license and locations for Family Fishing Nights and related events that are scheduled throughout the summer in communities across Nebraska.
Anglers and families of all skill levels are invited to come and learn about ice fishing. Equipment, bait and hot cocoa will be available on a first come first served basis.
On July 25, 2015 the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will be hosting one of the year's most intriguing outdoor events for both its participants and the general public – the 5th Annual Nebraska State High School Fishing Tournament.
On that day at Lewis and Clark Reservoir 9th through 12th graders will compete for bragging rights within the state of Nebraska as well as a spot in the regional bass fishing tourney in the Fall of 2015.
Each competitor will have a teammate and a coach, and the event starts at 6:00 AM with a rules and safety meeting. The tournament concludes at 1 PM and is followed by a weigh-in. There is no cost to participate if you register before the tournament date, however all anglers must be 16 years or older and have a current Nebraska Fishing Permit. In addition, there is no entry fee for spectators to an event that is definitely worth watching.
