"Wanna Go Fishing for Millions?" Cabela's Contest

From May 5 - July 8, anglers who catch specially tagged fish can receive merchandise and cash worth up to $2 million.  


Game and Parks Commission recently tagged fish in:

  • Box Butte Reservoir near Hemingford
  • Calamus Reservoir near Burwell
  • Cunningham Lake in Omaha
  • Harlan County Reservoir
  • Lewis and Clark Lake near Crofton
  • Lake McConaughy near Ogallala
  • Merritt Reservoir near Valentine
  • Swanson Reservoir near Trenton
  • Wagon Train Lake near Hickman
  • Wehrspann Lake in Omaha

The tags were provided by Cabela’s and placed on largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, walleye and channel catfish. 

To be eligible for the contest, anglers must first register on Cabela's website:  www.cabelas.com/fishformillions

To receive a prize, an angler catching a tagged fish must take a digital photograph of their catch with the tag attached to the fish. The photo along with the tag number, details of the fish and catch location must be entered into the www.cabelas.com/fishformillions website. Anglers should retain the tags, as the Grand Prize winning tag will need to be provided to Cabela's.

Winning tags must be among the first 10 tags redeemed to be awarded the $1,000,000 Grand Prize. Tags coming in 11 - 100 place will receive $100,00 and if redeemed after the 100th tag have been received the anglers can pocket $10,000.
