Opening Dates and Application Periods


Season Dates:

Bull Permits – Sept. 29-Oct. 28
Antlerless Permits – Sept. 29-Oct. 28 and Dec. 1-31

Fees:
Resident:
Either-sex or Antlerless — $159**
Landowner — $39.40**

Nonresident:
Nonresidents are not eligible.

**Includes a nonrefundable $8.50 application fee.

Open Area:
Elk Management Units

Legal Methods of Take:
  • Rifles, 25 caliber or larger that deliver at least 1,700 foot-pounds of energy at 100 yards
  • Semi-automatic firearms capable of holding more than six cartridges are not allowed
  • Muzzleloading rifles, 45 caliber or larger
  • Longbows or compound bows, hand thrown spears

Shooting Hours:
30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes following sunset
