USING GAME BIRDS FOR DOG TRAINING
Birds can only be purchased from a Captive Wildlife
permittee or licensed nonresident breeder. Pigeons do not fall under that restriction. Special provisions apply for
the possession and use of game birds for dog-training purposes. Please
contact the Game and Parks Commission for more information.
Nebraska Wildlife Crimestoppers
Operation Game Thief has changed its name to Nebraska Wildlife Crimestoppers. The number
to call when you see a game violation is still the same: 1-800-742-7627. This toll-free
hotline is sponsored by the Nebraska Wildlife Protectors in cooperation with the
Game and Parks Commission. Help protect your wildlife resources. Your call will be kept completely
confidential and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
