Welcome
Thank you for your interest in Nebraska's state park
system. From Chadron, our first park established in 1921, Nebraska's park system
now encompasses 84 areas across the state. There are park lands to suit virtually
every outdoor taste.
Whether you're seeking the ultimate in modern conveniences in a picturesque
outdoor setting or yearn to get back to nature amid the unspoiled beauty of the
wilderness, you can find just the right locale for you from among Nebraska's
exceptional state park areas.
This document lists lodging, camping and activity fees at designated areas.
Links to detailed information on many of our park areas can be found here.
Park Permit
A Nebraska State Park Permit is required when entering all
state parks, state historical parks and State Recreation Areas (SRA). Fees
derived from the permits go to improve facilities in the park system, as well
as for land acquisition and a portion of the maintenance costs. These funds
help build camping areas, trailer dump stations and a variety of other park
facilities across the state.
Regular park visitors will probably want to purchase the annual permit, while occasional users may find the daily permit better suits their needs. Daily permits are valid until noon after the date of issue. The entry permit does not exempt park users from other fees charged for camping, swimming, trail rides, rental boats and other activities.
Permit fees are as follows:
Annual: $25*
Duplicate Annual: $12.50*
Daily: $5*
*A $1 issuing fee may be required

About Nebraska's Camping and Lodging Reservation System
Two new ways to make campground and cabin reservations for Nebraska
State Parks (SP) and SRAs (SRA). Remember that we
also have many first-come, first-served sites available for spur-of-moment camping.
| Online |
By Telephone |
| Online Reservation are now available. Use the Internet to check
for availability and to make campground and cabin reservations for
several Nebraska state parks and recreation areas! It's fast and
easy. |
By Telephone - Contact a reservation agent at Nebraska's
State Park call center at 402-471-1414. The Reservation Call Center is open
9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday and closed on Saturday and Sunday and all state
holidays. |
| Payment is required in full at the time
the reservation is made. The reservation fee applies to each site or
unit reserved. |
The Nebraska State Park reservation system is a great way to reserve
your campsite in advance, which makes planning vacations and other
events easier. |
Cabins, Lodge Rooms, Group Overnight Lodges and Cabooses
| Lodging reservations are available up to a year in advance on a
first-come, first-served basis online or by calling Nebraska's
Reservation Call Center. During peak season a two night minimum
stay is required. (This requirement may be waived if a room or
cabin is available for one night between two prior reservations or
walk-in registrations.) During non-peak season, one night stays
are accepted for Sundays-Thursdays, excluding holidays.
Reservations require a $7 (plus tax) reservation fee per unit in addition to the regular
lodging fee. Reservations are accepted in person, telephone or by mail during
regular office hours. Cabin check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out
time is 11 a.m. (except at Fort Robinson State Park where check-in time is 5 p.m.
and check-out time is 10 a.m.)
|
Example of Cabin at Platte River State Park |
Camping
| Designated campsites may be reserved one year to three days in
advance of arrival. For example, Tuesday is the last day to reserve Friday/Saturday and Wednesday is the last
day to reserve for Saturday/Sunday. Reservations require a
reservation fee in addition to the regular camping fee.
Reserved sites may not be available until 4 p.m. the day of arrival.
Reservations for primitive tent campsites are also
accepted at Smith Falls State Park. Campers that would like to make reservations
for Smith Falls State Park will need to call the park directly at 402-376-1306. No
online reservations are available for Smith Falls at this time.
|
Nebraska has 84 park areas across the state. Of these
84 park areas, 71 offer camping. Of the 71 areas,
24 park areas have been designated to accept reservations on 50 percent
of their modern campground sites. All other park areas and
remaining sites at the below areas are all first-come first serve.
Therefore, we have many first-come, first-served sites available for
spur-of-moment camping. Below is a listing of the park areas that
take reservations for either cabins, camping or both.
