Campground Host Openings

What is a Campground Host?

A Campground Host is an individual or couple, over the age of 18, who are willing to be ambassadors of the State Park System for other visitors, without pay.  A host will work approximately 20 hours per week in exchange for a free campsite, electrical hookup and use of area’s shower facilities, where available.

Typical Duties of a Host
- Campground Host Brochure

  • Greet campers, answer their questions and orient them to park and region
  • Assist in campground registrations and reservations
  • Be accessible to campers for comments and complaints
  • Understand and explain-not enforce-park rules and regulations to campers
  • Help maintain campground and park area

Campground Host Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be willing to devote a minimum of two weeks to selected campground
  • Must be on duty a minimum of 4 hours per day, but on call in case of emergencies
  • Weekends and holidays are included in time served
  • Must supply own camping equipment
