Game and Parks
2015 Nebraska State Fair Exhibit

Make plans to visit the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Outdoor Encounter at Nebraska State Fair from Aug. 28 – Sept. 7, 2015. The exhibit features a Niobrara River Valley theme with a 12-foot waterfall, a 5,900-gallon aquarium, and a 150-foot meandering stream.

Our most popular exhibits will be returning this year and include an old-fashioned shooting gallery and a scenic 3D archery range. A fishing game, bird toss, outdoor playground, and several hands-on learning activities will be open to kids of all ages. A number of hunting, fishing, parks, and outdoor cooking demonstrations will take place at our outdoor pavilion. Permits and license will be available for sale as well.

New for 2015

A second large meandering stream has been added just outside of the Nebraska Building along the edge of our outdoor playground. We invite you to grab a seat, relax and enjoy the scenery.

Inside guests can visit our multi-screen display and learn about the reintroduction of bighorn sheep to Nebraska. See how sheep were captured and released into Nebraska and follow the path of a migrating bighorn using data collected from its GPS radio collar.
